Little Texas Closes 20th Anniversary Year with a Surprise Show in an Unlikely Venue Just two days before the official end of their 20th Anniversary year, the morning of Nov. 6th brought a flurry of activity to the members of Little Texas, who had originally thought they would be enjoying a rare Friday off at home. While perusing the local news in Brentwood, TN, Little Texas guitarist/vocalist Dwayne O'Brien read that their high school football team would be playing their first playoff game at home - without their marching band. Seems the band was out of town at a marching contest, and that prompted the civic-minded O'Brien to action. Read More |

LT Sings National Anthem for SEC Network "Game Of The Week" - Kentucky vs. Vanderbilt Little Texas made another rare Nashville appearance yesterday at their second football event in one month. This time was at Vanderbilt University's Dudley Field as the band, borrowing their friend, Mark Sutton of Brother Trouble, led the crowd in singing the National Anthem. The game was the SEC Network's "Game Of The Week" and was broadcast throughout the conference. Vanderbilt is the alma mater of LT's Dwayne O'Brien. |
"God Blessed Texas" featured on American Idol On Wednesday night, January 27th, America was reminded that "God Blessed Texas' is the National Anthem of Texas. Almost 25 MILLION viewers tuned in for this episode that featured contestants coming to Dallas, TX, in hopes of becoming the next American Idol. But this isn't the first time the song has been used on the tube. For years the Texas Ford Dealers have used it in their commercials. And just recently the song was featured in HBO's popular True Blood series. |

We asked the band's bassist, Duane Propes, a native of Longview, to share a little about the band and what he and the three other original band members (Porter Howell, Del Gray and Dwayne O'Brien) have been doing since Little Texas reunited. It will be hard to find a stranger when Little Texas headlines the opening night of Longview's annual downtown party. AlleyFest returns on June 4 when the Country band responsible for 15 Top 10 songs, half its four members from Longview, invite a hometown crowd to a reunion. "We're calling it our homecoming," bassist Duane Propes said of the concert on the Budweiser Stage, which backs up to the railroad tracks on Fredonia Street. "We're all going to have so many friends there. The coolest thing about it is we're kind of having an impromptu Class of '85 reunion that Friday." Read More |

Little Texas Signing with Raising Cain Records Little Texas, known for their outstanding stage performances and impressive string of radio hits including God Blessed Texas, What Might Have Been, and My Love, will be joining Raising Cain Records. Four of the band's original members, Del Gray, Dwayne O'Brien, Duane Propes, and Porter Howell are still writing and recording music. "These four guys write, play, sing and perform. It's hard to find the complete package", says Sane Asylum Entertainment CEO Anthony Martin. Martin went on to state that "the band's sound has changed to a more guitar-based presentation since Porter Howell became the lead vocalist. Porter's vocal sound is more mature and has much more character than the Little Texas vocals of the past. It's great to work with musicians of their caliber". Little Texas will be starting preproduction in June for their first Raising Cain Records production. |
